how to reset Windows XP WinSock

Yes there are some cool little batch files or exe file to run to fix this problem but in case you don't have an Internet connection you can always manually reset winsock by doing this.

Windows XP Service pack 2

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt.

Reset Winsock entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot your computer!

Hope this becomes useful to anyone and all.
